Estate planning lawyer serving clients in Japan and Hawaii
Estate planning is not something that people like to think about, but there are many families who wished their loved ones had thought about it. Family members can experience legal and other types of problems when someone dies without an estate plan in place. At Hongo Law Office, LLLC, we know it’s never too early to start thinking about the future.
Attorney Yuka Hongo guides clients through the process every step of the way to help them create an estate plan that meets their needs. She can review your financial situation, discuss your wishes for how you want your assets distributed, and answer any questions you have. She also guides families through the probate process after the loss of a loved one.
Helping you plan for your family’s future
Many of our clients are Japanese residents who own property and other assets in Hawaii. Estate law is different in the United States, and an American lawyer is needed to arrange for the distribution of U.S. assets. Attorney Hongo helps clients bridge the language and cultural barriers that they may face with estate planning issues.
Born in Japan, attorney Hongo was raised in the United States in a bilingual household. She is a graduation of Loyola Law School in Los Angeles and has lived and worked in both countries. She uses her knowledge of estate law, bilingual skills and understanding of different cultures to help clients create appropriate and effective estate plans.
Attorney Hongo regularly receives referrals from banks, legal professionals and financial professionals in Japan and the United States. She is a licensed notary public in Hawaii and also an IRS CAA (Certifying Acceptance Agent) who can help clients obtain an ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number).
